Moms give endlessly and are always putting everyone else’s needs before their own. On Mother’s Day, she deserves to be celebrated and reminded how deeply she is loved. A couple weeks ago I asked my followers for their input about what Mom’s actually want for Mother’s day. They did not disappoint! I had a few ideas of my own already, but I also got so many great options! Mother’s Day is coming up this month very soon (May 11th) so I thought I would put together the answers that I received and some of my own to share with you! Here are 10 ideas that Moms would actually love to receive on Mother’s Day this year! P.s. I saved the best one for last, and it doesn’t cost a thing!
1. A luxury scalp massage
This is something that I truly believe every Mom should experience! At Zen Wellness, you can book the most amazing facials and scalp massages! Skip the mani/pedi this time and get her the Elevated Scalp and Skin Therapy Experience for 2 hours of pure bliss!

2. A day trip to Desert Hills
May at Desert Hills is chalk full of beautiful flowers, seeds, and starters, and is also the perfect outing for the whole family! Plan the day and take her to get everything needed for the garden or patio! Make sure to stop for the most amazing tacos ever before you head home!

3. A gift card for a cleaning company
Instead of cleaning the house for her (because you’ll probably do it wrong anyway), why not get her a gift card for a one time deep clean with a professional cleaning company? She can use it when she is ready and she will certainly be thankful to have it done for her!

4. A picnic at a local Winery
What better way to spend your Mother’s Day than a lovely little picnic and stroll at one of our amazing local Wineries!? For Mother’s Day at Privato Winery, you can already reserve the perfect charcuterie picnic basket with a bottle of wine, utensils and glasses! Monte Creek Winery has teamed up with a local florist to put together the most amazing flower bouquets that come with a complimentary wine tasting in the Tasting Room or a glass of wine on the Terrace. The best part is you can pick up the bouquet on Mother’s day! How lovely to take her to a winery and already have a beautiful bouquet of flowers ready for her!? These two spots have already thought of it all and make it so easy for you!

5. Personalized Jewlery
We love getting jewelry at any point in time, but for Mother’s Day, lets take it one step further to make it even more meaningful! A couple ideas would be a family birthstone ring that includes the birth stones of each children or the whole family. Another idea is a beautiful necklace with the first letter of each child’s name.

6. Organize and book a car detailing
Moms drive their kids around 24/7 and it can be so hard to keep it as clean as we want sometimes! That fresh, clean car feeling would be the perfect gift for Mother’s day! A mobile car detailing company that comes right to you would be the best!

7. Help with planting the garden
How about a nice afternoon out to one of our local garden shops with your family to shop for garden plants and flowers? Oh, but it doesn’t end there! Take it one step further and help her plant the seeds and flowers and clean up the mess afterwards! Trust me, she will appreciate this!

8. A fruit or blossoming tree
If you have a yard and the space, you could get her a lovely lilac bush, or peach tree! Take the time to make it special and plant it in the yard all together as family. Each year she will get to watch it grow and bloom along side your children!

A gift certificate for family photos
If you haven’t had professional family photos done in a while, this is the perfect time to surprise her with a gift certificate to get them done! She is the one that is always taking photos of the kids but is rarely in them herself! As a photographer and a mom, I can’t stress enough how important this is! Make sure she has beautiful photos of her with the kids too! Head over to my website to learn more about my photography services or get in touch to book your family session!

9. A video interview of your children
My last idea, and my personal favourite! Come up with a list of questions about their mom and then sit down with each child individually and record their answers. Things like “how old is your mom?”, “What is your favourite thing to do with mom?”, “What is moms favourite thing to drink?”, “What do you love the most about mom?”. The possibilities are endless and I can guarantee this will get the happy tears flowing!
There you go! I hope you enjoyed and found these ideas useful! The most important thing to remember is it is the thought and the effort that counts the most! It doesn’t need to be anything extravagant or expensive, but if she can tell that you put some time and thought into what would make her happy, she will truly notice that!
